Royal Canadian MountiesIn 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15th as “Peace Officer’s Memorial Day and the week in which the date falls as “Police Week.” National Police Week serves as a time of reflection and appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice made by exceptionally courageous and noble officers.
In that spirit, each year in mid-May, the society hosts the annual Police Memorial Commemoration in conjunction with National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day (May 15th). The society takes this time to keep “The Promise” to all those who have given their lives as law enforcement officers of the Greater Cleveland area.
The Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society hosts many events throughout the entire Police Memorial Commemoration. Please review the following schedule and join us in honoring those who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of service to us all.
